OK real quick again tell me why I workout/do cardio then drink sugar?

Say I do a hardcore weightlifting workout then finish it up with 20 minutes of cardio that burns some calories, say I don't know like 200.

then I come home and in my PWO shake I put 50g (which is 200 calories) of dextrose sugar.

what's the point of burning 200 calories of mostly carbs and then drinking 200 calories of carbs? I Don't buy that I'm burning all fat calories during that cardio, it's mostly carbs I'm sure.

so what's the point again?

the sugar gives you an insulin boost. insulin shuttled much needed protein and carbs to the recently deprived and overworked muscles to facilitate healing and growth.

ps. you're still small

shadow and lestat's answers are conflicting and boggling my small mind.

ps i'm getting stronger statty stat

this is the deal:

TO maximize LBM GAIN - sip on a whey/carb drink DURING and after workout

TO mazimize fat loss - do it on empty and avoid calories for a bit afterwards.

You cannot maximize both in ONE session - its why I, and others, always advise two sessions - obe for weights and a cardio session first thing am
