i have always changed my routines every 8 weeks, and when im doing a routine i use the same order exercises for each bodypart each time i work them (once a week) and dont change this order till i change my exercises after 8 weeks. today a guy told me i should keep the exercises teh same for 8 weeks but change the order every week. does this help alot what do u think, also he advocated doing since i do legs all in one day like diong quads then hamstrings one session, then the next week hamstrings first then quads. does this matter a lot, cuz it seems like it would be hard to track ur weight of exercises since u would be changing their order eacht time??
 
I personally don't like to switch up the order at least for the first major excersize, after sometimes they fluctuate a bit in order.

Mainly because its nearly impossible to gauge increases in your training when you don't do the same lift first. I only mark progress on my first lift since after that my others my change order or if my intesity was out on my first lift even if my overall strength is down, since I didn't hit it hard I have more energy for the following lifts meaning I could techinically less strength but still statistically show improvement if I used later lifts as a gauge, so as rule of thumb, I only gauge by the first major lift and always keep the same lift first in my routine as long as I can without stalling out.
 
keep everything the same and use it as a base level for your next workout. [providing it works for you]

strive for more reps or more weight.

when you begin to plateau then add more calories.

when it gets to the point that you are eating 5000+ a day and still plateauing then take a week off training [you may also want to reduce cals a bit!]

go back and try again. after 2-3 weeks if you ain't getting nowhere then it's time to switch up routine [i highly doubt you'll continue to plateau though.]

if your training gets mentally boring and same old same old and you think you'll quit if it doesn;t get more exciting then switch up. i don;t want you giving up lifting.
 
I would love to be able every now and then to keep everything in the same order, but due to other people using the gym (shouldn't be allowed) the equipment I want is normally being used so I have to do something else in the meantime to keep the intensity up. As such, I have decided to turn my living room into a gym. The sofa is too inviting and must be punished .....
