Haha do you guys really eat roo? I dont think they sell it in woolworths haha

It is definitely at coles and I think they have added it at Woolworths.

The mince is $6-7 per kilo; the steaks are more.

Normally I avoid mince, but it specifically says under 2% fat. Moreover, the fat is good fats (mainly mono; then poly; then Sat. It is also the highest known natural source of CLA per wikipedia)

And it tastes really quite good, and only takes 2-3 minutes to cook, which is good for me (lazy, impatient chef)

Do you prefer this over chicken breast/turkey and steaks and stuff? I've been getting into that heart smart pork and been making that in stir-frys etc

I actually do prefer it over chicken, and steaks (I never really consume turkey, what's it like v chicken?), although salmon to me is tastier. I can't stand the heart smart pork, although the heart smart beef is decent.

I have Roo 1-2 times per day (150 gram serves) - only Salmon would I eat as much. My only concern with this is WHO report about red meat and cancer, but I'm hoping that on balance, the rest of my diet is healthy enough to negate this risk.

As far as cooking option, george forman, broil, lightly fry, or use non-stick pan. It has to be rare to medium rare. Broiling taste the worst, but I still normally do it simply because it makes the pan the the least dirty (I'm very lazy when it comes to cleaning). I have never fried it, but I'm sure that probably taste goods. Restaurants often serve it with apples sauce - tastes very good, but it kinda defeats the healthiness of the product. I normally just put garlic + herbs on it.

Bewarned - at times my urine and farts have smelt of kangaroo! May happen to you. But its worth trying, as it reduces shopping expenses
