Diet Dr. Pepper...does it knock YOU out of ketosis?

I actually drink it all the time, but when I first started I thought that it was the reason I wasn't reaching ketosis quickly, but I found out I wasn't eating enough. But after my first carb up, I was more wise and reached ketosis more quickly and I was still drinking a lot of it.

So the answer is no, it doesn't.

What do you mean you werent reaching it because you werent eating enough? I thought starving yourself put you into ketosis?
Thanks.

No, keeping carbs below around 10g/day and keeping your fat intake higher than your protein intake will get you in ketosis.

yeahh, if you don't take in high fat, then you won't reach ketosis. they don't tell you this in the articles, so the first time i just ate half the amount i should of and took too much protien (shakes from workout.) but this diet is higher in calories than my usual diet. i know it doesn't make sense, but i had to eat more to lose weight...

BBF studied diet dr. pepper with a blood glucose meter some while ago.

there is a thread on it.

I believe he found it had no effect

This is 100% true. The chemical structure of aspartame is NOTHING like glucose. Your body can't utilize aspartame as a source of energy at all. Aspartame will not affect blood sugar levels in the slightest bit.

Keep in mind, it has caffeine, a diuretic. I try to follow diet sodas with a couple of glasses of water.
