What should I be eating on the 5x5?

Basically as the title says, i'm looking to improve my diet.

My main goal is as much muscle mass as possible. I'm 16, 6'2 around 150lbs with low BF.

Breakfast is usually 3 eggs or a big bowl of oats with milk, nuts, seed ETC

Morning snack: Usually only a cereal bar (Area I know I need to improve so any suggestions are welcomed.)

Lunch: Chicken breast, usually on a roll but i'm going to start having it with pasta or rice.

Snack when i'm home: Sometimes a banana with PB on toast or 3 Wheet-a-bia with milk (Also could do with improving IMO so i'd like any suggestions)

Pre-workout: Whey drink

Post workout: Whey drink

Dinner: Whatever the parents make but it usually contains a fair bit of meat.

I also usually have a few spoons of PB throughout the day. Should I eat more? Any suggestions on what to replace my snacks with? Any contributions are welcomed!

Fuck bro... You're young and I bet funds are tight. I wouldn't worry about fancy high price supplements are any of that garbage. Milk is probably your best bet. Try to drink around a gallon a day if your parents can afford it lol.. If the whole milk fucks your stomach up try the 2%. A gallon of 2% a day will give you and extra 80g of fat, 208g of cho, and 114g of pro. That is around 2100 extra kcals a day. That would make a huge difference. I know this is a vague answer but milk does a body good lolol...

forget the milk
add vegetables, brown rice, chicken breasts etc
throw bananas, oats, and anpb, and maybe have your milk in those shakes if you can't stop drinking milk but try to cut it out if you can: www.notmilk.com
3L of water a day at least

you are missing a big PWO carb meal and maybe a post dinner meal (when do you go to bed?)... maybe have a pasta meal asap after leaving the gym. Also drink a gatorade or something sugary after your workouts.

BASICALLY FORGET 'SNACKS' AND EAT FULL MEALS - you want to eat 650 cals 6-8 times per day and you will see results... so up the portion sizes if you have to.

Could also add 5g creatine monohydrate pre and post workout to stimulate muscle growth but you don't really need any other suppliments at 16.... just EAT EAT EAT every 2 hours! gl bro

Skim or 1% milk is a useful source of calories - I know some people here have milkophobia, but honestly, 1% or skim is a much better source of calories than what comes from most 16 year old diets.

You need to be realistic. Rippetoe himself is a milk lover.

Your from England - Sainsbury's sells the best cottage cheese/yogurt blend I have seen, less than 1% fat and carbs. Amazing! (I'm from Australia, but was impressed by this product when overseas). Gorge on it before bed.

With your PWO, make sure you include some carbs - I'm not sure I recommend dex/malto to a 16 year old, so potatoes, oats, wheat, bread, corn, something like that is fine.

For post workouts carbs get a box of glucose powder from Superdrug or Boots. It's costs about £1 and should last quite a few workouts. Have about 50g mixed in water after each workout.

regardless, cut out dairy and virtually eliminate indigestion and lose a kilogram of mucus in a week... enough said

have a protein shake before you go to sleep also

as already said you need to eat eat and eat some more bro, at 6'2 150lbs you can eat anything in site as long as your training hard enough. cut down on cardio if tryin to gain weight also.

Well I'm not going to force my opinion on you like some others, but I'll just say that I know a ton of knowledgeable body/strength builders, a lot of collegiate athletes, a few professional athletes and many other general trainers and almost all of them are milk drinkers.

Verdict in my opinion, drink yur milk.

A lot of Milk haters....Natty p nut butter goes a long way too. For PWO I would buy some powdered Gatorade and mix it with some whey. Try a two to one mix of the Gatorade to whey.
