Progression to max 5

I am doing a pyramid sort of squat workout, with doing x5 for three weeks x3 for three weeks and then a week of max.

starting with x3, i have progressed to 375x3, and two days ago hit 365x5. I set up doing 225,315,335,345, and then 365. I hit 355x5 the week before that. Do you think this is a good progression to the target weight, or should I cut down the increments?

If I am reading correctly I would definately space out the weight increases a little more, IF IT WAS ME. If this works for you and your still going up in weight weekly why change.

135, 225, 275, 315, 365 This is how I would do it, but to each his own.

What these guys are saying. Stick with what works for you.

I know when I do linear 5x5 that I tend to make a bigger jump on the first 2 warmup sets, but the last 2 before the main set will be smaller increases, but close to my working weight. I don't like making 50lbs jumps from a warmup weight to a main set.

I tend to limit the final bump to no more than 35lbs, but that's me.

Right on, as you say I keep going up weight so ill probably just stay the same, just getting some different opinions out there. 5x5 is working solid, almost every week a 10lb pr so far!

Nice! Im trying to get those 3 plates for bench, would be good to have that before starting a cycle. What accessory work did you do for bench then besides the 5x5? and how long did it take you to get from 275-315?

I actually like the idea of smaller jumps as you get closer to the highest weight. Ive thought of it but reading it makes it sound much better. Like 25-35 pound jump last 2 sets or something
