Losin my grips...

I don't know what in the world is going on, but about 2 months ago, I was getting really high on my deadlifts and other exercises, never using gloves or wristwraps or anything, and then suddenly, I can't seem to hold the weight anymore... I'll be doing my deads and I won't be able to hold the weight for long before my grip gives out.

My wrists/hands don't hurt and don't feel like they've been injured... I tried using gloves and that made it worse. Any ideas? I'd rather not use wrist wraps. This is affecting a lot of exercises. thx :)
 
Happened to me, as soon as I started deadlifting 315, my grip was gone. I don't know what it was, but like you said, it wasn't gradual at all.

For me, the decision was easy - started using straps. I'm not training with deads for my grip, I'm training for back and hammies.

If you want to train grip, train it seperate.

I dunno, I may have to. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right (or disabled)? I'm hoping that it strengthens my grip. Else i'll probably have to go with the wraps.
 
Get gym chalk, way better than wraps. Dont you ever get burns from the wraps when deadlifting?? Especially the higher you go.
 
Well, I haven't used wraps in a long time, but when I did, I never had any problems with burns or anything.

I was reading an article in MD yesterday (by Charles Glass), and it settled it for me. Some guy wrote in and had the same question. Charles Glass pointed out that top bodybuilders (even Ronnie the-big-cheese-himself Coleman) use them. I'm just gonna have to go pick me up a pair.
