I'm thinking about giving this a try but frankly <20 grams of carbs
is kind of a challenge.

I generally use skim milk with my protein shakes but it looks like that's out. Hell there's 3.9 grams of carb in a serving of my shake.
3 shakes and I'm up to 12 grams of carbs. ack only 8 more to go.

Someone want to give me a couple of clues?

You can make your protein shakes with water instead of milk. A word of advice though. It WILL taste like shit for a while before you'll (hopefully) get used to it.

red meat, cheeses (check the carbs on these), eggs, bacon, pork, chicken with skin, oils, nuts, sour cream, guacamole, pork rinds, string cheese, fatty fish to name a few, also check out www.c-k-d.com

No milk, and try to stay away from dairy products: cheese would probably be your only option in low-quantities.

Lookf or 20-30g carbs per day, less then 6 g carbs per meal.

is the 20-30g carbs per day necessary on a ckd? Or would it be preferable to try to get as close to 0 carbs as possible?

yes keep them as low as possible but try to get some fiber in there

It's not possible to take in 0 carbs; actually you need about 20-30g carbs for brain functions and the rest can be mostly ketones.

I'll give you an example of mine. Now, fiber isn't an issue for me for some reason. The only time I have problems are with abrupt changes in diet. Here's what I eat in a typical day and it comes out to about 2000 cals (pardon my weird tastes)

Meal 1:
4 strips of medium cut bacon
4 Eggs, scrambled
2-3 slices of cheese (cheese eggs are the bomb digity)

Meal 2:
George Forman-cooked Chicken Breast
1 cup of broccoli w/ 1 slice of cheese

Meal 3:
Chicken Wings
@$$ load of ranch dressing
1 cup of green beans

It works great for me. If I get the munchies or just want something for my mouth to do I just munch on shelled sunflower seeds. They are high in sodium, but this doesn't seem to affect me all that much.

1 - Eggs and Flax Oil
2 - Chicken and Olive Oil
3 - Tuna and Safflower Mayo
4 - Sardines and Macadamia nuts
5 - Burger patty with mayo and a teaspoon of Psllium husk fiber
