Groin injury

Its on my right side and Ive had it for about 6 weeks. Hasnt gotten any better, and we start football practice in 9 days. Wondering how I can speed up the recovery process? I havent deadlifted or squatted heavy in 6 weeks and it sucks that my groin hasnt gotten any better. I always seem to reinjure it doing something stupid like slipping on the hardwood floor in my socks, or tripping while getting out of my car. Its pissing me off!

didnt rest mine long enough and led to a year off it and a torn hip flexor. And its still not the same...

same side too btw

ah thats tough :\ luckily its one of those that you can work through the pain.. pop some tylenol before practice. thats what i did and i had that same injury. It sucks, you can't even run 100% though. Just try icing it, 15 on 15 off as much as possible. thats all i can think of for that kind of injury

Get on a lifecycle or any kind of bicycle in the gym and do 20 minutes every day.you have to push it.you have to get blood in there to heal the injury.i pulled mine too about 5 wks ago and right now i am doing ok.
Hope this helps you.

I fucked my groin up back in march. I took two months off training, but I'm back now. Rest was the only thing that helped. It does get a little sore sometimes after squats, but I warm up thoroughly and stretch everyday.

I hope you heal up soon bro. Training at less than 100% fucking sucks. Especially when you're a strength athlete.

You should do the hip mobility drills and then hip stability exercises like unilateral RDLs and stuff.

about 4 yrs ago i thought i pulled my groin. tryed everything to get it to heal but it just kept getting worse. ended up being arthritus in my hip which has turned into needing a hip replacement which i am scheduled for in a month. in doing all the research ive done over the years i have seen alot of bodybuilders have the same issue at about the age of 40-45. i sure hope that is not your issue as it REALLY SUCKS. i havnt been able to do any lower body work outs in 3 years and after the surgery my options for lower body workouts is going to be very limited. no squats, running, or anything that has a load or any type of pounding on the area like running.

It's not gonna get better miraculously in 9 days imo regardless of what you do.

Starting football training in 9 days is a very high chance of seriously injuring yourself.

I would talk with your coach ASAP.

That's not something you brush aside and then go full on training. It would be bad enough trying to do serious leg work, but actual footbal training is way more violent in regards to the demands on the muscles of the legs and hips.

Be careful man. Best of luck.
