diet guru's question 3

I am on a ckd diet and the reason is that I am going to audition for a fitness model next week. The agent has already seen pic's of me and wants me to come in and interview with her next week. Assuming I pass the audition, she wants to take me to a fitness expo in November I think to meet several mag publishers and protien people and shit like that. I am 5'9" 180 at 5% and I look like I weigh around 200lbs. I have my top 2 row of abs in but my bottom ones are lagging a little. Do you think I should go off the ckd a little and maybe boost my carbs to around 100gs a day to add some mass? Could I keep my abs by doing this? Thanks, BamBam

im sure someone here will give u better advice but drop the carbs LOW about 8 days before the event keep sodium levels high and water levels high

then the last three days cut out all sodium you can, drink water and eat good carbs to get the full look

hey bam

hey bam i am thinking of running a ckd, i have a few ?s on how you ran yours,
--what bodyfat did you beging at and how much weight did you lose
--during your low carb phase of the diet how many calories did you consume daily(10times bodyweight, 12 times etc)
--how did you do your carbups, how long and with what type of carbs
thanks any help would be appreciated

No offense dude but if your 5% you should be shredded every where.

I've posted before, how I do my carb loading and depleting to prepare for a BB show. I'm not sure how easy they would be to find, so I'll give you the rundown of what worked for me. There are pics in my gallery that show what kind of shape I was in. As far as sodium goes. I was taking in as much as I could until 4 days before the show. 4 days out, I cut out sodium totally and started taking in potassium. You need to continue to drink at least a gallon of water a day until the day before your engagement. I would stop drinking water the evening before. Sip if you need to or eat ice chips. My carb plan went like this: I had been staying right at around 100 carbs a day for quite some time. 6 days out, I stopped taking in carbs all together (yeah I know, it sucks). For 3 consecutive days, I would get no carbs and I would do a full body workout that consisted of 3 sets per body part except for legs(leave legs alone). After my 3rd carb depletion workout (day 3), I started taking carbs back in. I shot for 400 carbs a day, (I'm 5'6" and in the photos, I weighed 155lbs). You say you weigh 180 lbs so I would estimate between 4-5 hundred carbs for you. Replenish with whatever number you decide starting the evening of your last depletion day and for the two days until your event. It will give you that hard and full look. It can be kind of hard to bring yourself to eat that many carbs but if you don't plan to take in at least 400 carbs a day to replenish properly, you shouldn't deplete. Let me know if you decide to try it, and how it works.

Thats true fat_sumo just take a look at needsize's pics(hes huge and shredded) and the last I saw he was probably 5-6%

he might just be flat from ckd'ing so long. Once you deplete all water and carb up the day of/before the competition, you'll blow up like a balloon and hopefully keep those fat cells constricted.

No offense taken dude, but I am shredded everywhere except my lower abs. I have a very small layer of fat over them that is probably more skin than anything. I am thinking that my lower abs are not genetically inclined or something because my top abs are shining hard. I have heard that some people dont have lower abs, does anyone know if this is true? Yes, needsize is fucking ripped big time. I honestly think he has the best BB physique I have seen on these boards. He and I have different goals for the time being though. Bam

I started about 4 or 5 weeks ago at 188 and about 6.5% I would estimate. I am down to 181 today and I am at least at 5% if not less. My bf % is naturally around 7 to 8% year round, I guess I have good genetics. When I was bulking, I took in around 500 to 600 carbs a day. Now, on Sunday's I carb up with about 450 grams of carbs. I catch myself taking in more than 20 carbs a day most non carb days though. I am trying to maintain my weight on this ckd which is hard to do. I lot of people drop a lot of weight and it is easier for them because they don't have to take in as many calories as I do. This is my first ever diet and I learned everything from a lot of these guy's that posted so just pay attention to their advice. Bam
