as you all know i stopped taking shakes last year this time when my boy who is d1 in lax came home natty 10% at 210, and not one player on his team is allowed to go over 10, nor do they take any whey at all. just steak 2lb ed. started doing that back last year and i was on eq. ive put on 20lbs i think since eating like that. at first i did steak but after the eq it got real hard to pound that much so i started to throw in fish more often. ive been doing a 1lb of salmon and .5lb steak .5 chicken and with the variety i can eat more, sometimes i'll go just two pounds of salmon though because fish does not fill me up at all. well now i know why dropping protein had no effect and i started growing so much. there is no doubt in my mind that with my metabolism i waste the protein from those shakes. with meat i do not waste it at all. 32g of protein in 5oz is nuts. 16oz is a pound so 1lb of that a day is 104g of protein right there. and 2lbs of it is 208g of protein or some shit. i might just start eating salmon only with a side of pasta and give steak a rest altogether. i had never looked to see how much protein was in it, but my girl is cutting down for a photo shoot, all natural of course, but she wanted to know what had more cals tilapia or salmon. so i researched it and tilapia has less than half the cals but nowhere near the protein, like 21g per 5oz. just thought i'd share. if you like it and can pound it like me its a damn good way to get your protein. i can't stand canned tuna, just ahi, salmon, tilapia and salmon and tuna sushi. i'd eat sushi every night but its so expensive.
