Cardio

To everyone who competes: what does your cardio look like the weeks leading up to a contest? Right now, I'm losing weight just by dieting, but I'll probably stall out soon, so I'll have to throw in some cardio (show is in late July). AM empty stomach? After lifting? How long and at what intensity

The time you will get the fastest results will be in the morning on an empty stomach. You could also do it post-workout. I did this for 6 weeks prior to my show. I was doing both sessions for 45 minutes and I was busting my ass. I don't know how else to quantify the intensity.

My last show (in my avatar) I did no cardio at all. The next time I compete I'll probably do about 30 minutes of higher intensity cardio in the mornings.

I think I could get by with doing no cardio too, I think I will do it anyway this time. I just don't feel right not doing some cardio pre-contest. I like it because it is grueling and takes serious grit and mental tenacity.

Doing cardio will help to keep your metabolism up, too. It's probably for the best to include it. I'm not the most logical thinker when I'm on my contest diet.
