Is it possible that some people really have to drop cals below 2000, or 1800? I've been dieting (from what trainers and nutritionists are telling me) perfect. Is it possible that some people's body adapts to the dieting scheme and holds on to fat, even at such a low calorie count. I'm just curious, bc I have absolutely no prob packing on muscle, but cutting fat is damn near impossible. Thanks in advance

If you get stuck in a calorie deficit "rut" you body will most likely (like you said) adapt and store fat. This is another good reason for a few "cheat" meals a month. I usually have 3-4 month typically on Sunday. I wouldn't make it a binge but just bump up the calories a bit that day and have something you wouldn't usually have. I'm a sucker for ice cream!

It's possible if you're 100lbs. to have a diet of 1200cal, so it is all dependent on the stats of the person.

I actually weigh 200 lb. The problem is that I haven't been able to drop a single pound in the past three months. I've had a trainer and a nutritionist draw up diet plans for me that were almost identical! Even that has not been working. I stuck to this diet PERFECTLY and drank 1 gallon of water a day. Also, my cardio, has been 45 min three days week. then in between that, I run 40's and 100's on the days i'm not doing HIIT or running miles. Also, my training has been dead on at the gym. I'm completely at a loss. So my question is, should I drop my calories down further and further from 2000-2200 until i notice fat loss? Thanks again

Theres things you can do, like one said, shock the metabolsim with cheat days.
I consider a better opotion. Instead of cheating one day and gaining fat for that day, keep the calories non constant
ie:

mon2000
tue1700
wed2500
thu2300
fri2000
sat2800
sun1800

these are not the same for everyone but thats the idea I try to implement on myself.
Also, the entire week doesnt have to have the same f/c/pro ratio.

I think one of the most important factors in dieting is avoiding carbs with fat at the same meal.

Just make sure the total weeks worth calorie expenditure is significantly higher than the consumption.

i would bump up the cals a bit at first til the scale moves up a tad and then drop your cals by 500 a day for a week

at times i have only eaten 9 cals per lb of weight and had great results

It sounds like a classic case of overtraining. I suggest you put up your plan in a post here and your training regiment and how long you've been doing it, I can look at it and go from there.

If you're natural, overtraining is ALWAYS an issue.
