Is a six pack gentetic?

I have been wondering is a six pack genetic thing? Some people have one and some peopel don't? Reason I ask is I have low bf, somewhere around 9%. I have a flow blown six pack when I flex my muscles but I would like to have one all the time. Is this possible or am I just out of luck because of poor genetics? I have don't lots of weighted ab work in the past which helped give me a defined six pack when I flex my abs. Does AAS change this genetic predisposition an all you to have ripped abs? Everytime I see a pic of a person that uses gear, they have this look I am going for. are they just one of these fortunate people with good genetics or whats the deal.

6-pack = 50% diet + 40% training + 10% genetics

I know that. I have a great diet, and I train hard. I have a nice looking 6 pack but only when I flex. I wanna knwo if gear will help change this.

then your not lean enough for your make up to have what you want yet but it IS NOT a genetic thing

No way its genertic, my brother and are the only ones in our family and my other bro is sub 9% with no visual abs......

I've gotta say there is NO way to be sub 9% and only have abs (visable ) when you flex. 9% is very lean and if you have developed abs they would show flexed or not. How did you get your bf checked? Calipers? Hand held electronic device? I would guess (without seeing a pic) that if you have good abs when flexed but none really visable when not flexed that you are closer to about 12%. Still pretty lean but not ripped. I've said it before and I'll say it again, most people think their BF is much lower than it actually is. I am at a legit 8% right now and have good seperation head to toe. I don't have an incredibly tough time staying lean due to a very tight and consistant diet but staying sub 9% is difficult for anybody. Go get underwater weighed and get a true BF% and then you can set some specific BF goals. The good news is that if you have abs when you flex then you are on your way, just drop about 2-3% BF and you're there. Good luck!

LOL..ok..I'm lying.....dude, trust me....he's sub 9%, my other brother is a big time competer, while my younger brother (9%) never lifts...just parties.....he's skinny fat with no abs....come on over, I'll show you.....

I can't stand when people disregard something when they truly have no idea of the story......

JKurz, I like you man. You post good info but you just need to learn to READ.lol. I said there is no way to be sub 9 AND have DEVELOPED abs and have them not visably. Obviously if the muscle is not developed it won't show regardless of a low BF%. The original poster insinuated that he had well developed abs because when he flexed they look great. That tells me he isn't 9% and needs to be lower to see what he wants, which is "beach abs"
