I do think that for someone trying to BULK , gatorade during workouts are a VERY good IDEA . why ? Because , like they said it , it keeps replenishing muscle glycogen levels , therefore , better recuperation , more endurance , strenght and stamina . Good STUFF .
BUT , for somone trying to LOSE FAT A.K.A. cutting , I really don't think it is a good idea . Why ? Because whenever we are lifting or doing cardio we are TRYING to utilize OUR OWN body FAT FOR FUEL , so if you keep using simple carbs while lifting , you will NEVER use your OWN bodyfat for fuel when lifting . I DO know that most of the energy when lifting will come from stored liver and muscle glycogen anyway , BUT if we can TAP our own body fat for fuel when lifting , EVEN a LIL BIT , ( let's say 80 % from glycogen and 20 % from your own body fat ) that is already a good thing .

You don't burn fat while exercising to any appreciable degree. Your body works on a 24 hour clock, it's the calorie deficit that forces your body to use up fat stores. That being said each workout should be as intense as possible with protein and carbs fully loaded and ready to go. When cutting i simply cut out all carbs after the workout. When bulking i continue eating them till the evening in all my meals. And get fat easily, just like you, just don't become paranoid about it.
But whatever phase of training i'm in, i drink 50 grams of dextrose and 50 grams of protein 45 min before the workout. I have NEVER had a bad workout using this system. I get super pumped and just can't run out of energy, every rep and set is 110%. The cardio session that follows is great as well. Water is all i sip during those workouts. Give it a try. and like i said when cutting, no more carbs after that, when bulking continue to eat them PW. It's a simple and effective formula.
