Bronchitis SUCKS btw.. I could only do 8 minutes of cardio today before I almost died of a coughing fit!!!


BTW... Motivation? Heck! I do 45 min of strength, and 60 min of cardio a day when I feel good......... My trainer says I'm a FREAK!!! LOL

OK. so this is part of your problem. And I suspect that the reason you cheat is because you're not eating enough food. You cannot stick to a diet like the one above at your present weight. You need to be eating 1570 cals a day. In 5 meals of 300 cals each.

Sample:

1. 5 egg whites w 1/2 cup oats (measure before cooking)
1 cup blueberries


2. 4-5 oz chx breast with greens and tbs olive oil or flax oil

3. 4-5 oz chx breast with 4-5 oz of sweet potato (or 1/2 cup brown rice, etc) and greens

4. low carb protein shake with added fat. (calories need to = around 300)

5. 4-5 oz fish with greens or other vegis and tbs of olive oil or flax oil

Then you're definitely not eating enough, and your body is holding onto everything it's got because it thinks you're starving it. :D

Sounds crazy, but you need to EAT to lose. The example I gave you is still a lot less than what you're burning, so you still have a calorie deficit. The reason that more fat in your diet will work is because

(1) it makes you feel fuller for longer and you're less likely to cheat

(2) Your body will go out of starvation mode because you're getting adequate fat for it to burn, and it will start burning you body fat stores for fuel.

cool, huh? :D

I follow a few rules:

eat carbs and protein together or fat and protein. NEVER fat and carbs together.

always eat a carb/protein meal AFTER you workout. NO FAT after a workout.
 
Wow! Great example!! Thanks so much! I was worried about eating rice, cuz I'm still trying to lose weight, but you think Brown rice is ok?

As long as it's cooked without fat and you measure your portions.

1/2 cup = approx 100 cals (fit day says 107)

Thanks so much! I've been struggling for a month now w/ this diet, and I think variety is what I need, along w/ more calories.... Scary huh? LOL!!! Thanks again!

Well, it depends, exactly what kind of "low carb" diet does your trainer have you on? Can you have 50 grams of carbs a day, 60, 70? Has he/she stated when you should be eating them?

If you have a trainer and you're only eating 4x a day....I'm shocked that they haven't cracked the whip on you for that. You need more food, girl!!! The low carb diet WILL NOT work without the fat. Also, low carb diets only work for a while and then you WILL stall out and need to change it up. Are you pre comp?.....is there a specific reason you chose low carb vs. 40/30/30?

I did low carb for a while - 10 grams a day. Trained hard & did about 30 min of cardio 5x a week (was off on the weekends).With low CKD, you can eat all the time and your body will still burn the fat, due to not having carbs to burn. I never counted calories and was 12% bf. I looked great...but felt like shit! Tired all the time and cranky as hell.
