Ive heard a lot of different points of views on cereal and fat free milk when it comes to dieting. Can anyone clarify the truth for me?? Once in a while,The only cereal I will eat (if I do) is before I go work out and its Miniwheats(100 cal, 23carbs,3prot,0fat cal)..w/ fat free milk. I also have a protein shake). Is that bad for a diet? Ive heard a lot of stuff about milk in general....any truth in it?

Ocassionally nothing will really "be bad for a diet". But cereal in general is processed. You want to keep your processed food to a minimum. Milk - sure won't hurt you -they say it helps lose weight now. Milk in general, still a sugar. Like I said, nothing will hurt you occassionally. But are there other choices? Sure. Oatmeal, cream of rice, etc. These are primarily better because they aren' processed.

Like Sassy said -- for overall health -- nothing in moderation is bad. But so-called healthy cereals aren't as healthy as you'd think they are. A lot of the "healthy" cereals also have sugars listed, hydrogenated oils, etc on the label. Make sure you read the label & go from there.

On a cutting diet, some women have luck with milk whilst cutting, others not. But always make sure you take a calcium supplement, if you won't be partaking of dairy.
