remembr glycogen requires quite a bit of water. all the carbs helped give back that "glycogen pump" that had been depleted due to the low-carb dieting. that increased intramuscular glycogen + the additional retained water help give the muscles a much fuller look, which is probably why you look more cut. you're probably also holding a little water elsewhere, which would help account for the 8 pounds, but it's probably not as noticeable as the muscle fullness.
