Why are you still obsessing over fat burning when you are trying to gain weight. Fat gain is gonna be a matter of how much you are consuming over a total day and how much you expend. It is not based on 1 meal.

You do not have to have fat loss on an empty stomach, exercise helps to expend more energy and creates an energy deficit. Try doing a search under "cockdezl" under the women's board and diet board...if they are still there.

Insulin will blunt fat burning, but if calories are reduced, this becomes more moot.

Try having a low GI meal (easily digestible) an hour or two before your workout. Then have a small whey shake before going to the gym. While there, sip on a dextrose drink. Afterwards, have another protein drink with whey. An hour after that have a regular meal. OR, You can just save your dextrose drink until after your workout along with a whey drink.

This is what I do when trying to add size. I do not drink dextrose drinks when leaning up.

bro, are you for real????? you think it was the Vitargo??? i just started lookin in the local supplement stores for this shit, but guess what, that search is over after reading this post. ill stick with my celltech for my pwo carbs and creatine

thaat is what I am currently doing......no dext, was using Virtago but Slat has me worried.....this may be my last tub....won't stop it, just might not buy it again....too pricey for posing a risk.....plus it clumps.....we'll see...thanks for the advice...

BTW - I am not worried abnout fat burning.....but in the same respect, I want the calroies to be used for training, repiaring and growing, not for digestion....same principle....all good.

I feel ya Jeff - you just want to make sure the best of it is being used the best your body can. I think at your BF Dextrose is still a good choice but i know you are a well read man so I will take your word for it.

I have read a few places that the Virtago is no good for you - I will look for a link but i think is was on bolex
 
I mix a very strong shake of 3 scoops of gatoraid powder, one scoop of whey, one scoop of gcovery and one teaspoon of puremcc. I also add in a powdered form of vitamin c. I sip it through out my workout and keep watering it down as the workout goes on (which is why I put such high amounts of each ingredient). By the time my workout is done, it pretty much taste like water.

But I also do very demanding workouts and currently trying to climb up to 280 or so and keep my waist in the 32-34 area at 6'4.

Btw, Jkurz, before you say that shake is a bad a recipe, or I don't know what I'm talking about or any of the other crap you've replied to me in the past, know I get my advice from the same gurus who advise all the top pro's. Just saying, because I expect from your previous replies to me to hear some shit like "that's insane" or "it will make you fat" or whatever other insulting shit you've posted back when I've only tried to help you.

If that's you in your avitar then you have nothing to explain and/or defend. I'm 5'10" and even when I compete at just under 220 I can only get my wasit down to 33 or 34, AND i've been told my top national level competitors I have "great" genetics. That's some sick genetics you have bro. Good luck in your quest.

5'10 and 220 in contest shape is incredible to say the least. I'll keep my eye out for you in the mags one day.

LOL I hope so. Believe me, I'll link it up here if and when it happens...

But to be honest, I dont think I want my waist THAT much smaller. After all, if the judges wanted small waists and cartoon-like proportions, then Melvin Anthony and Lee Priest would have been placing 1 and 2 respectively at the O for years now. I think Jay has a great physique, but Ronnie has been looking pregnant for YEARS and still winning over and over. Anyway, I'm getting off topic here. Enough of my rant.
