Is Your Prior Whey Only?
i used to take 20gms whey with about 40 sugar, but now i just take the whey, and my pwo shake is 75 dextrose, 60whey, 10 creatine. (some slin here and there too)

You sip on the whey, or have it pre? Some even say grapefruit juice and whey or pineapple juice and whey.....but wouldnt this stop all fat burning properties?

jeff, fat burning doesn't stop in the gym, it should ideally go on long after. the reason for that is that the hormones which are responsible for this will be released slowly and ideally long after a workout too. don't obsess over this stuff. if you feel you need more carbs to get you through a workout, then have some.

Disagree......tis why we do cardi on an empty tank and wait to eat......it haults fat burning when calories are introduced...not that I need it, but it's a theory...

Take this for what its worth.
Last year my blood work showed my liver values were high. They tested me again a month later and they had doubled. Another month passed and they doubled again.
At that point the Dr was scared. He thought I had liver disease or a severe medical condition.
We ran every test under the sun. Everything came back negative.
He decided it must be something I was eating.
That is when it dawned on me. I had started Pure Vitargo two weeks before the first test.
I stopped taking it and we ran the test a month later. Everything was back to normal. At one point my liver values were over four times the highest acceptable value.
I will never touch the stuff again.

undoubtedly it burns cals while you're doing it but i'm saying you should aim to burn after workouts too - that's from the hormones released as a result of the workout. IMO, the bulk of fat is burnt outside of the gym after the workout and as a result of it (obviously). i've read a few articles that say the empty tank thing isn't all that important, it's the exercise itself.

I get great energy and prevent muscle breakdown using a little cocktail of 8 oz gatorade, some crushed ice, water, 2 scoops vanilla whey, some bcaa's, plus/minues creatine. Might want to give it a try, but dont go overboard on the simple carbs.

Also can add 5-10 g glutamine as well. Just make sure you have plenty of liquid in the shake. Last thing you want is to have to stop your workout for a bout of osmotic diarrhea

If I miss a meal then I drink a Whey/Dextrose shake during and just go eat afterwards.
ditto.

I'd rather be "non-fat burning" as you say than be catabolic and burning up muscle.

Ideally, I try to have enough fueling/food in me before training later on in the day/night to get me through it... if not, I'll do the shake during... or sip on a double sized powerade if I'm going to pass out.
