Question about overtraining...

Alright I do my abs DAILY now, with 30 lbs sittin on my chest to increase intensity, at least 50, usually 70+ crunches, held for 4 seconds at the top, and then leg raises with 5 lb ankle weights on each ankle going again, very slow, doing usually 24-30. So then, even with all that intensity added on, I still don't feel sore the next day! Question is, if I don't feel sore, and I train them everyday and still feel nothing, then that's not overtraining is it? And if THAT is, how is that bad if I'm not hurting the muscle in anyway. If anything it would make sense that it's more of a benefit.

Alright, well then can I still train my abs daily? I don't see anything really negative coming along with that, and I do it pretty intense when it comes to abs, too.

well i'll be honest with you, i'm no expert on abs and have never cared about them a lot (although i do work them), but EVERY day seems a little too much to me, if you mean each TRAINING day, it would be a whole different story altogether, but then, it would also depend on how often you train. having said that, different things work for different people, so why don't you try it out? see how it feels, what results it'll give you?
personally, i train abs about 3-4 times per week.

well, i used to stick to 1 bodypart per week for years (for me, that meant 3 training days per week), using a one day on/one day off split. however, i've been training them twice per week for a while now (with good results). others may see overtraining in that, but for me it's been working out great so far. hope that helped ya!

Seriously, why not train them like any other muscle? Two to three times per week since they recover a little faster, sets of 8-12 reps with weight?

Because I can easily do 5x that amount and still am able to continue on. My stomach never cramps up... Odd. And yes, I do them correctly, I've been for years. ^^

abs require more reps due to short stroke and TUT - calves as well

Or overtraining, for that matter. Karma for you.
