protein shakes while cutting?

due to my job and busy life i sometimes have a hard time getting in necessary food meals and sometimes have to substitute w/ low carb protein shakes. does this slow down someone trying to get ripped? i know food is better but is it that big a deal? ususally i'll substitute grilled chicken and alittle vegies w/ a shake in such circumstances. i get 6-7 meals a day, depending on my work schedule, and out of those 3 are shakes, 3 food. i eat every 3 hrs. training, cardio, supplementation, rest and AS all on point. been dieting since april. was 236, around 15-16%, now 216 around 11%. i need to lose about another 6-8 to be where i want. can't up the cardio since i've been slowly increasing over past few months. now doing 40 min sessions 4 times a week. 12 week cycle is over in either 7 days or 17, depending if i do another bottle of winny. then PCT.

You're fine for the occassional protein shake for these instances. I was 240 at the beginning of March, now sitting at 210..and pretty much the same schedule as you described. I know it can be done, I was tracking my calories/prot/carbs/fat daily, so I would account for those meals. It's better to have something, than to skip it all together!

Next week, shifting to my a bulking cycle... OMG I get to eat again (more)!!! I've been craving some serious carbs for a long time

why cant u up cardio--its the key

You should be fine... whole food takes more energy to digest, and would be ideal.. but just do your best... supplementing a few shakes, is better then not eating.... IMO...

IMHO, I don't think that shakes will help you hold muscle mass as you diet near as well as whole food (which increase postprandial thermogenesis much better) and subsequently your metabolism won't be humming along as high.

i don't want to up cardio since i'll be off winny in 14 days( decided to crack into last bottle of LSP), and i feel once i'm off i may lose more muscle than normal doing more than 40min sessions while not on anything. i am getting more cut each day but i am already noticing my legs and neck looking smaller. i know u can't build muscle and cut at same time but i want to hold onto as much as possible. also started AIFM 3 days ago after dropping letro about 10 days ago. been off prop and tren and clen and t3 also for about 3 weeks. my boy who knows his shit got it in my head that i shouldn't be taking any shakes except 1 after training and before bed. he's show caliber though. i just want to look almost show ready.
