Pain!!!

Hey Bro's;

I think I fked' up. I am in the 5th week of training prep for an april meet. Two saturdays ago I had a couple of beers and was talked into arm wrestling. I beat the first guy both arms and it was a struggle. Then this young pup wanted to go right after so I said ok, big mistake. He took me down after a bit of a struggle, but the following monday my inside elbows hurt. I believe it's the tendons connecting my bicep to my elbow. Itrained all last week thru the pain figuring it wouldn't get any worse. I took this weekend off and benched this a.m.. I'll tell you this I have singled 375 before and this morning 305 for 6 damn near killed me! I went for my second set, against my better judgement, and the bar rested on my chest going no further till my spotter lifted it. I couldn't even put my jacket on!! 1.5 hrs and 600mg of ibuprofrin later I was able to move my arms without crying out.

I will be taking a week off, duhh.., but my question is; has anyone had this sort of pain while training?? and if so how long were you down?

My lifting partner did something similar. He did three straight
matches and hurt his elbow. It turned out to be strained.
This is more than likely what you did. A week's worth of light
training, rest, ibuprofen and ice took care of the problem.

If you are really concerned, go see a sports doc. However,
I think you will be OK in a week.
