You know ladies, I was really impressed that I was able to maintain a lot of mass and pretty much stabilize my bf/weight with the aquatics alone. I was especially impressed with my lats, abs, shoulders and calves.
I always knew that eventually I'd incorporate the weights back into my workouts. Heck, I've been lifting for over 20 years! But I had gotten really bored and just unhappy about a lot of things in my life, including the weights. I wasn't competing, knew I never would again and it got to the point where no matter how much I took it easy or rested or whatever it was a torture to go back to the weights...
Now that I am happy with my overall shape (I am still marveling over the fact that I actually maintained my shoulders - genetically VERY weak) and was getting bored in the water it was a good time for me to go back to the weights.
I was considering checking out a wall-climbing gym I found accidentally several weeks back. I am hoping to do that next week.
I figure the more fun activities I have to keep me moving, the better I will feel about keeping in shape. My competitive and fitness modeling days are waaaaaaaay behind me for a few reasons. So I am happy that I had ya'll cheering me on so I didn't give up completely.
You ladies will never know how important you all were to me over the past several months... thank you. It would have been soooooooo easy to just give up and say, "Screw this. I stole a few good years of *hotness* but nothing lasts forever and I may as well except the fact that I am growing older."
I am glad that ya'll were here to help me raise the bar.
