hi. i have a few questions..and i need a answers from you lovely ladies. okay. its been 6 days on atkins, im well into ketosis. im eatting 5-6 meals a day. like..eg...
breakfast-eggs, bacon
lunch-tuna or chicken salad
dinner- cheese burger, chicken or other protein
snacks- sugar free jello, nuts, a few cheese sticks
water..i drink hella water 2-3 liters a day(maybe more..alot to me though)
exercise..well, i just started back ive been 5 days strong..sore, but im hanging tight..heres an ideal day for me, i do the elptical rider for about 20-30 min daily (it varies) my calorie burn is between 230-330 calories..i change the levels on there. i lift weights as well, not light either. i do 3 sets for upper body usually starting w/ light weight working my wt8 up and drop my reps down. so, my thing is this how long will it take for me to notice a small differnece..my friend lost 22.5 lbs in 2 weeks while on atkins and didnt exercise at all..she didnt even drink water.lol. only diet pop. so, whats my problem. any words of encourgement would help tremendously..
thank u.

I am not a big fan of this diet...i think cutting carbs in moderation and rotating your carbs is healthier, then eating all those fats, now fats are good like flax oil, oilive oil, and natural peanutbutter, but not saturated fats.....I believe a person needs their veggies!!! Sure this diet will work, but it takes time......I know most of us are impatient but it will not happen over night, it will take a while. You also have to ask yourself is this a lifestlye??? Changing your eating should really not be a diet, but a lifestyle change of healthy eating. Do you think you will be able to stay on this diet for really long periods of time???? Probably not, its just not realistic, that is why I am not big on these types of diets. When you start to introduce carbs back in your system......back comes the weight. Do a search on diets, there is tons of info. Be patient......you will see results.

You might want to read WarLobo's post on cardio "When 30 + 30" on this board.

Personally, I think that Atkins isn't a good diet. You could do a search on the Diet Board onthe CKD--Cyclical Ketonic Diet--you carb up 1-2 days a week so you can actually have muscle mass.

Once the inital water weight is gone on Atkins--surprise! you need to count calories. Eating so much fat and protein will curb your appetite and you end up in a calorie deficit--just like any other diet.

Here;s a link to some good diet plans: http://home.earthlink.net/~vinnyi/dieting/diets.htm
