Injured my calf running sprints for HIIT, how to heal fast.

I was halfway into my 30 second sprint on my second interval, and my calf just started to cramp and hurt like crazy. I finished the last fifteen seconds of the sprint on a very painful calf. Anyway it's damaged somehow and I'm not sure what it's called. Did I pull a muscle or what? It doesn't feel like a tendon it just feels like someone hit my calf with a bat, right below the gastroc, about halfway up on the soleus. It's a little sore to flex but if I try to give it any tension like standing and flexing it rising up on my toes or really trying to push off with that foot it kills. How long will I have to recover before I can sprint again? I'm super pissed about it because I was just starting to get stronger at the interval sprints. I don't want to be out for like two or three weeks until it is strong enough again. I have goals and this really messes with the plan. What are ways to rehab it quickly. How do I properly determine if it's is indeed a muscle pull and not something else?

The same thing happen to my calf when I just suddenly decided to run somewhere. Like you said, it felt like someone smack the back of my calf with a baseball bat. I thought my whole calf muscle must had pop out of the skin. Anyway with ice, advil, and started stretching after a week, it took 1 month to get back to 100%. It felt fine after 2 weeks, but only if I didn't do any running.

FUCK, I can't wait a month to start running again. If I push it will it really get messed up? Can I damage the muscle more or the tendon? I know I sound stupid wanting to push the limit and run before I'm really healed, but I hate being injured and I really hate my goals being messed with. I want to be at 5% by the end of July and with this new set back I'm worried I won't make it. I think I could do a stationary bike for HIIT until it's better because it doesn't put as much stress on the muscle. Damn I had guess I didn't fully respect the effort that it takes to really sprint all out.

did you completely warmup and stretch properly, it takes at least 20 min for a good complete warmup???

just do the bike for now, and rest the calve muscle, ice it, and stretch like everuone else suggested

I did stretch before the HIIT session that caused the injury but afterwards I did remember that I didn't stretch my calves much at all and that's why the injury. I knew the importance of a good warm-up but still didn't fully warm-up everything. LESSON LEARNED!! I've been stretching it everyday since and massaging the muscle, boy does that hurt. I can do calf raises onto my toes with little pain but when I try to run that extra strain really makes it hurt. Does the ice really help after the initial injury? I thought that after the initial injury day you should use heat and massage to workout the damage, and not ice.
