I just can't find the time

Please help me, I am trying to find time to do everything. If any of you have any suggestions, I would appreciate any help. Here is my problem, I work 9 hours a day, have two adorable children and a great husband. When I get home, I can't find enough time to get everything done, for example, clean house, cook, do homework, workout, get everyone ready for bed not to mention still spend some alone time with my other half. Lately, the only thing being pushed aside is my gym time. Any suggestions? oh, and one more small detail...my husband is usually on call, therefore, he can't really help with the kids as far as being left home, while I go to the gym (in case he gets called out) HELP ME PLEASE

Well--you may not like this suggestion but I get up and do my workouts between 4:30 a.m. and 6--only way I can do it :)

I agree w/Allie-cat.

I used to get up at 500am & go to they gym; and I think I may start doing that again since I feel that I workout harder at the gym than I do at home. Sure it's convienient, but with the kids trying to pull on me and hollaring for me every 5 minutes it's sometimes hard to concentrate.

Good luck!!

Okay, today, I got up at 4:30 and headed to the gym, however, I have to be in the shower by 5:45 to get myself and the kids ready for 7. So, not a whole lot was accomplished in this time, I feel better since I went, but this is simply not enough time, remembering the gym does not open until 5 a.m. Does anyone go to the gym during there lunch break? I thought about that, but really that is not enough time either. I AM NOT GIVING UP!!!!!!!!.

How much time do you NEED for training? You should be able to get in and out in 1 hour.. Lunch time may be your best route.

okay, I guess you are right, maybe I am trying a little to hard. If I can get in there and do a body part a day, I should be good. Maybe cardio every other day. Thanks for that wake up call BIKINIMOM, I guess I just felt rushed and like good quality wasn't there.

I'm having the same problem. I'm a single mom with a nine year old and an 11 month old. When it comes to the house and stuff, I just had to accept that it's just not going to be tidy the way I want it to be. I've had to learn how to just ignore what I can't get done, and that's been really hard for me.

As far as the gym goes, I try my best, but I'm having trouble getting there because I can't leave my kids. Babysitting is sporadic, as I can't afford to pay someone to look after them every time I want to workout. My mother can only help me out so much, which isn't that much. I have a couple pieces of fitness equipment and am using those in addition to starting to do pilates. When I can get to the gym, I try to be as quick as possible without sacrificing my program, and then shower when I get home. If you do cardio, maybe you can run or powerwalk, and then you don't have to do it at the gym? Early morning is good, just have to be quicker in order to be home to get the kids off.

I have 4 kids and a husband who goes out of town 18 days out of 30. Invest in a treadmill, get up in the morning before the kids get up and run, then when the kids go to bed go to the gym. Get your hubby to join the gym too, then once a week get a babysitter (usually my parents) and go with him. that way it doesn't interfere with the kids and you spend time with hubby and if he gets a call he can just leave the gym. It is hard at first but you get used to the early mornings. My husband and I love going to the gym together plus we motivate each other. On the days you can't get to the gym invest in weights and do them at home. Did it for 6 months that way and lost 20 pounds.

Hey, thanks for the advice. I am actually looking into an elliptical and some weights for the house. And yes my husband goes to the gym, that is one of the problems. He is a bodybuilder and takes it very seriously, he does not compete anymore, but he still does not miss and is very much into what he does. We use to go together, but then the babysitters really got tired of the everyday routine. My husband is actually, really trying to help, so maybe this weekend, I can go get my elliptical. I will definitly let everyone know just what I have come up with. Thanks for all of your help, it really put some ideas in my head.
