Corporate Travel + Lifting...

Bros, I'm fucked...

I just got a job where I'll be traveling on business M-F for 2 or 3 weeks every month. I can already feel myself shrinking!! I'll have to eat 3 protein bars a day just to get enough protein (I hate protein bars!!) and will have to track down gyms wherever I go.

I will be home for the weekends when I travel, so I can always hit the gym HARD at that time, and I have at least 1 week at home each month (hopefully usually more like 2), and I'll in the gym then.

$$ for food won't be a problem since my company pays for all the food while I'm traveling, and not per diem, I just keep the receipts and they hit me back, and they don't give a fuck if I spend $65 for a steak at Ruth's Chris, either...

Any suggestions on how to maintain a decent workout regimen or maximize my time at home? I swear I'll go crazy if I can't maintain my physique and become another fat ass business traveler...

Are there any workout programs designed for 1-2 weeks on, 1 week off, etc?

Any of you guys know any good gyms in Fayatteville, NC, or Charlottesville, VA? I'll be there next week....

You need to plan out where you will be lifting before your trip...

You can also get a full set of bands from www.jumpstretch.com You can do a variation of about every exercise that you can think of with them...and they are very portable.

My gym is a no name place in CA, but they belong to this organization of gyms that honor eachother's memberships. There are hundreds of them in the states and many more internationally. Lots of hotels have adequate gear to lift with. Usually no free weights, but some stuff. Carry less clothes and more protein powder.

Pro bodybuilders travel all the time making guest appearances and shit all over the world.

I don't see a problem unless its international travel, and then time zones could be a big factor.

If your tab is picked up by your company, eat at the airport, on the airplane, have the taxi stop at a food place somewhere on the way to your hotel, order food to the job, carry protein bars in your pockets. Since you'll be drinking lots of water anyway, use your bathroom trips as an excuse to eat the tuna sandwich in your briefcase, or the PBJ in your coat pocket. There's no reason this would hinder your gains that much. Just keep your priorities in check.

honestly you are fuked, especially if you will be doing a lot of traveling out of the country. I just quit a job where I used to fly 50-75k miles a year. you can never eat when you want (every 3 hours) and will be forced to many dinners and fattening luncheons.

change is part of life.
