Can you build muscle in the absense of carbs?

As in the title, I'm on a low carb cutter so I'm not looking to build muscle at present but it interests me for future bulking purposes.

The way I see it, during the bulking phase any excess protein (mainly from whey protein) would be broken down by the liver into carbs anyway.

But I may be wrong :verygood:

OK,

Tiny little workmen live in your body. Their job is to build muscle.

When you eat protien, you're giving them bricks to build muscle.
When you eat carbs, your giving them wheelbarrows to move the bricks to the worksite.
When you eat fats, your giving them the mortar to put the bricks together.

Without carbs, you've got a big fuckin pile of bricks (not to mention the ones your shitting...lol) that are going nowhere and a bunch of pissed off little workmen who are union and therefore won't move the bricks to the worksite until a wheelbarrow shows up.

I need a life!

LOL... That's awesome

I like the analogy... but is it accurate?

If I ate 500 grams of protein , 200 grams of fat, and followed a solid workout plan, I wouldn't build any muscle?

You would, via gluconeogenesis. And all analogies are somewhat accurate, and somewhat false, thats what makes them simplistic pseudo-analogies.

Yes, you can

But it is not the easier way

Is it possible to get this much protein without accumulating several carbs?
