i personally like rowing the best out of those, but swimming is the best option for cardio/fat loss.
What do you usually do for a swimming workout? do you just do laps or some type of HIIT? I have a pool at my gym and would like to start using it to break the monotony of cardio. I just get intimidated when I walk in there and everyone is like wearing caps and special suits.

If we're talking about greatest fat loss while retaining the most muscle, then its probably whatever you can do while maintaining 65-70%mhr for a half hour to an hour. My cardio is very rountine, if not somewhat boring. 15 minutes on the stairmaster, 15 minutes on elliptical, then 15-20 minutes walking on the treadmill at an incline.

really doesn't matter. but always go for the one that also builds muscle if u can.

bottomline: if at the end of the workout, you're DRENCHED with sweat - ur doing ur body justice.

if not - doesn't matter what u did. isn't gonna do u shit.

Call me bizarre, but I always have music on when doing cardio, say if you liked dance music, and the song warms up into another bit, the kind of music with loads of energy, that gets me absolutely sweating my back off, I put much more effort in this way because it's as if i'm dancing lol, the music really gives you the drive. This will work with anything, my prefered choice is on the bike, because i'm lazy, lol

I hit the exercise bike for 15 minutes to warm up and then I do my weights four times a week. I also hot the treadmill 6 times a week, usually do 2-3 miles. On gym days I do the treadmill after the workout. It seems to be helping me a lot. I have a bad knee so I can't do the elliptical. I think if you spent 30 minutes on a treadmill and compared it to 30 minutes on an elliptical machine you would find that you burn more calores on the elliptical.

That's what the elliptical would have you believe. But running burns more cals for sure.
