For me, when I was 17 (in 1995), I went to Italy as I have always done during the summer. I have family there. I met this GORGEOUS girl there at the beach. She was one of the best looking girls I have ever seen to this day. Her body was UNBELIEVABLE!

Anyway, we hit it off really well. She was absolutely crazy about me. But when it came time to leave for the US, I was determined to return the next year with a new body. Right after I turned 18 (March 1996), I started lifting religiously. When August had come around and it was time to go back, I was so excited. I had gained 15 lbs. of quality muscle, and I was looking very good for the few months I had been lifting. It paid off BIG TIME when I went back there that year. :)

I have stayed in it (bodybuilding) ever since, but my goals are much bigger now, and I do it for different reasons. Well, sort of. :) Anyway, I am just curious to hear some of your stories and what it was like for you back then. I think it would be interesting.

I started to work out after high school. I played sports every season in HS (football, hockey, and lacrosse), so when i was in college i needed something to fill up spare time. Glad i got into it because i feel good and look good these days. Eating right and taking care of myself makes me (and i am sure others) feel good.:)

I was a Fat kid all my life and one day I just got sick of being fat, lazy and un healthy. I started to do Cardio and work on my diet and I joined a gym. Within a year I was looking better feeling great and had some self confidence back. I have been lifting ever since:cool:

A couple years ago I was into drugs big time. Didn't have any goals except getting messed up that night. Well when I had knee surgery over one summer, I couldn't do anything except munch on painkillers, drink and sit with the girl I was cheating on my girlfriend with. Well one weekend my best friend and I went on a binge. Did nothin but x, coke, alcohol, and painkillers for the whole weekend nonstop. I woke up and said what the fuck am I doing? I know this going to sound gay but I read the body for life book by Bill phillips and it changed my whole way of thinking. I started working out and haven't stopped since. I don't believe a damn thing Bill says anymore since I've become more educated but it was a good motivational book.

I started out lifting after a car wreck, and to gain some good muscle gains, I was a couch potatoe and I knew I had to do something about it. So I worked out for a year at the gym, tore my shoulder up doing it, but it was worth it. A some juicin' did not hurt either!
