What made you start liftin'?

Ever since I was in grade 7 I have had the vision of myself as the alpha male. 8 years later this goal is still embedded in my mind, and I am getting closer but I still have a ways to go. I want to be the guy girls want to be with and guys want to be like. I also think I have bigarexia, I am obsessed with getting big. Sometimes I will stay at home because I feel small although I am bigger than 85% guys out there, I can't handle that I need to be #1.

Anyway, I started lifting a 3 years ago and really started lifting hardcore Sept. 2000.

I was a very skinny kid(6' and 155lbs), and had a very low self esteem. I didn't feel good about myself at all. Lifting has given me the courage to do things in my life that I would have never done...

I see most of you guys were skinny ,genetic sad individuals...before trainning...well lets see I was 17 I guess I always condidered strenght and power the ultimate destiny of my life.I was 5-9 and weighted 180 lbs ,well gained 10lbs a year until I was 21 all natural....I was also considered the strongest guy anywhere i went...But I think Its was mental..I believed that was the strongest and when I d see those huge guys all roided up I d try to lift the weights they were trainning with(I thiught they were bigger because they trainned harder)Eventually I was stronger than all of them...LOL naturally,So I guess Im fuckin vain I think thats the reason and Whats the reason I train Now well
Its my identity and I take off my shirt in public alot and I want to impress those skinny guys ...lol
 
I was one of the strongest kids in High School (Top 5)in 10th grade. What a great feeling to have people watch you when you lift. There is nothing like being strong and healthy. Then that feeling is addictive!
 
When I was 14 my older brother told me he would give me $100 if I could bench 200lbs by the time I turned 15 (at the time my bench was barely over 100lbs). A year later I benched 205...btw I never got my money. :mad:
 
Real men train because?

Baddasswhitedude, Your reason for lifting is probable the same reason you still "workout". I emphasize workout because I don't get the impression that you do it for the real enjoyment,that is pain and more pain!! The finished result is I'm never satisfied with the way I look, and I still get all the fucking attention anyone could want from women and even men!!! I am an artist trying to sculpt the best body I have ever seen, I got the diet,drugs,the knowledge,and most importantly that voice inside of me SAYING "get up rocky,get up"""!!!
 
I was always I dweeb. As long as I can remember. I didn't get much respect, but what I did get was from the fact that I was naturally well built. Even without working out I was stronger then anybody my age. I eventually figured it out and by the age of 12 started hitting the wieghts but only spiradictly, only to make sure I kept above the rest. This continued through highschool and a few years after but still only off and on. I got married at twenty to a girl I knocked-up so I was a little bit distracted for a few years. Had another child,more distraction. I always tried to get back into it but always would quit after a few weeks or months.
At the age of 27 my wife slammed my physic. Told me how I had lost the body she liked me for and how I was destined to become a fat slob forever. She disrespected me and it hit me hard. I was 5'8, 175 pound flab boy with a beer gut. Well I snapped and joined the gym again and went every other day for 2 hours. That was a year ago. I am now 190 at 12%bf and I just starting my first cycle of gear, a cutting cycle(prop,winnie,primo).Trying to get to 200 at 8-10%bf. We shall see what happens.
I had my third child last november, my first boy. By the time he is old enough to know what muscle is I want him to think that his daddy is the man:-). As for my wife, she gives me more sex then ever and she joined the gym two months ago:)
 
That's funny MOB. Not too long ago, There was a guy at my gym who wanted to throw the weights with me that day, since we were both doing shoulders. I don't know him real well, but enough to say hi and chat for a couple of minutes. And he definitely has a respectable build.

He was doing what my "workout" consisted of. He just quit about half way through. He couldn't make it. He said I was crazy. But I love the pain!
