So Resistance 3 is getting quite a bit of praise

lmao

Call me what you will, but the old style health system reminds me of the old Quake and Doom days. I was hoping that games moved forward then that.
:D

Yeah but where's the strategy when you can just run and hide for a few seconds and magically recover no matter how many times you get shot up? It's a breath of fresh air to feel vulnerable in a shooter and promotes using more intelligent/creative progression tactics to survive.

Halo Reach had a similar health system and it gets props for that by anyone who liked the original.

I see it the other way.

I always felt that the old style shooters promote very careful and slow game play. No running in with guns a blazing.

I remember my cousin playing Doom by inching forward on all the levels to see the bad guys before the AI detected him and blew them away. Games were slower and less had less action.

I guess it depends on what suits you. It's just a preference to me.

Definitely a GOTY front runner.

god i hope so....i wasn't that geeked about it when they first started talking about it but lately i've been seein more and more clips and wow, just wow. That bladed boomerang looks legit, lol.

I've been hearing Half life 3 is going to have even better graphics than what you see in Rage.

I've heard they're waiting til the next round of consoles and planning to release it within a year of their launch. It would make sense, because if Half-Life 3 is going to live up to expectations at this point, it'll require more juice than the current consoles can put out, and it'll be Crysis all over again on the PC side when people bitch about having to lower all the settings just to get it to run. Or buy a couple $500 video cards in SLI/Crossfire lol.

Chump change for the dedicated.

the days of 800 dollars worth of gpu's is coming to an end. PC game makers realize they need to spend some more time coding so you don't have to run $2000 setups just to run a game on high let alone very high. From waht i understand rage isn't going to be that heavy on the hardware.

No, but it'll be a mammoth install. Carmack is saying they're struggling to get it on even a dual layer Blu-ray.
