Got up a bit earlier today as I plan on a small trip tomorrow morning where I’ll need to get up at 3am, is easier for me if I get up at that time one day earlier as well, then isn’t as bad on the day I really have to do it.
Have done some more research on how low hematocrit causes abnormally high blood glucose readings.
My hematocrit isn’t just low is falling through the damn floor, I have anaemia again from daily blood loss . With hematocrit as low as mine, there will be an error rate of 12% minimum.
With that new information I re-calculated my highest consistent reading which is my fasted morning test. It tests at 5.6 but hematocrit is as low as 12-16%.
5.6 -
12%
= 4.9
So, I don’t even have drug induced diabetes, which is exactly what I expected as soon as I learned that hematocrit being low causes abnormally high readings. It just took my until this morning to have enough time to find a study that demonstrated an error rate I could use. Was this one.

I will continue to monitor my blood sugar while on MK677, especially since is so early in the cycle. Also having reduced hematocrit, does in fact impair glucose tolerance, I can’t fix it without surgery so lowering carbs is still going to be a good idea despite this new information. Is good to know I could continue to drink those smoothies I rely on most likely if I need to on cycle though.
This also means that I didn’t in fact have drug induced diabetes from the CJC1295/GHRP6 as I previously thought, when corrected for margin of error that one comes out at 5.3, high because was even more anaemic then but still under pre-diabetes.
Moral of the story is low hematocrit will make you look like a diabetic or pre-diabetic when you really aren’t, add a growth hormone secretagogue in the mix without knowing this and it looks bad when it isn’t.
