Ready to Kick Ass & Take Names

Alrighty, I've got some new Nike Shox, brown rice, veggie's, almonds, salad, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, chicken, lean ground beef, and a brand new hair cut & color. I am ready to train :supercool

Quick menu plan:

Breakfast:
1 packet (1.2 oz) oatmeal w/ almonds (Splash of milk alright?)

Midmorning Snack:
Salad w/ 1 tbls dressing or oil & vinegar

Lunch:
1 1/2 cups veggies (bell peppers are my favorite)
3/4 cup of brown rice
1 can tuna or small amount of chicken or ground beef

Midafternoon Snack:
Almonds

Dinner:
6 oz lean meat/poultry
Veggie
Brown Rice (Flavored w/ lemon juice alright?)

How's it looking so far? It seems like an awful lot of food!! If I'm not hungry, should I still have the midmorning/midafternoon snack? I've always been told that if you aren't hungry, don't eat. But the 5-6 small meals makes a lot of sense. I know I need to add the flax seed oil and/or protein powder. Can I pick that stuff up at Hi-Health or one of those places?

Also, can I substitute a mid-meal with a protein shake or some kind of meal replacement shake? If so, what's the best way to go? Taste is the biggest thing for me, which is why I've been drinking the Instant Breakfast.

just my 2 cents but almonds are really high in fat so 2 times a day could really bloat you up. I would have egg whites w/oatmeal instead for meal 1. Dependin on when you train, have some carbs pre-workout- i think you wont have alot of energy on this diet.

good luck :)

I am not a lady but I sleep with one and I think you are too low in protien from the looks of your diet plan.. should have 1 gram per lb of body weight to keep nitrogen levels constant in your muscles to facilitate new muscle growth and recup. Inkman

I would add some protein to your midmorning snack & Meal 1.

Pick up whatever protein powder you like -- I like Optimum Nutritions as it tastes good & is a reasonable price.

Other healthy fats include walnut oil, olive oil, walnuts & avocado for a change up.
