Pre-bedtime: Muscle Milk or Chicken?

I've started incorporating the concept of slow-digesting proteins and healthy fats in my diet pre-bedtime. I started doing this with Muscle Milk, since it contains primarily casein( slow digesting protein )and allegedly healthy fats, with minimal carbohydrate load.

During the day I've also been switching more of my myoplexes and muscle milks and wheys to whole food sources like chicken and tuna, but I'm curious if I could do this pre-bedtime too. There are PLENTY of resources online about the digestion speed of casein vs whey, but virtually NOTHING about the digestion speed of whole food meat sources.

My question is can I shove chicken and oil down the hatch before bedtime and still stay anti-catabolic as long as I can with muscle milk?

Thanks in advance.

You could probably "stay anti-catabolic" for a lot longer, considering it is a lot more time consuming to break down and digest a solid vs. a liquid. There's no fat in chicken though... through in a serving of ANPB for some long digesting healthy fats with that chicken and u should be good to go.

chicken will do fine
cootage cheese is also another good option in my opinion
muscle milk is good but full of caloeries so be carefullif your cutting

I was too lazy to read the post, but when i think of muscle milk, I think of a fat shake, if you look at it calories not grams its got more fat than anything else.

Why not salmon instead of chicken - salmon contains both the protein and the good fats to slow digestion (100 grams of salmon contains 7 grams of fats, high in EFA's)
