Fellas,

Due to a lower back injury a few months back, I am unable to perform squats at this time. I have tried a few other alternate exercises, but I can see my leg mass slowly slipping away. As you all know, this is a very depressing event. So, if anyone can advise me on a killer leg routine that does NOT include squats, I would greatly appreciate it. And, please hurry, my fucking pants are falling off...HAHAHA.

Thanks for any help

close stance leg presses done with heavy weight and minimal depth to keep your back healthy. A few sets of continuous reps until you can do no more, shoot for 15-20 and when you can do 21 add weight. Load the bar!

Sorry to hear about the back bro. I would definately do leg press with your feet placed close together puttin alot more stress on the quads then perhaps some hack squats( if they dont hurt your back) and then leg extensions makin sure you squeeze at the top. Also you probably will want to experiment with the rep range as some peoples legs respond better to a higher rep range

Can you still handle deadlifts? Leg presses are a decent alternative. But it all depends on the severity of your injury and the amount of pain or discomfort you can handle.

Thanks for the advice fellas. It's a bitch to have an injury, period. Especially a lower back injurt. I guess it just takes time to fully recuperate from it, but until then I'll try the leg press with feet close together. I think I can do hack squats without hurting my back. What about dumbell lunges? Deadlifts are definitely out!

i dont get on with lunges...yeah leg press is the obvious substitute for the best damn mass builder of them all...the mofoin' squat.

If you can manage hack squats, dont go too heavy, go for them....they are a classic for giving you the outside sweep of the quad!
leg extensions and leg curls should finish off the day for you.

i am sorry to hear of your injury, it is a great shame.........ne way, think positive, keep lifting, eating and sleeping...those suckkaz will grow again!!

Yo Chemfreak, injuries really do suck, but to try and answer your question, can you do barbell hacks. I think that could possibly be another substitiute for you to use in place of squats.
