ouch! my legs hurt

It seems like every Monday it is the same thing. I do back on Saturday and Legs on Sunday and then a hard elliptical cardio on Monday morning. And, then I cannot walk straight for 3 days or so! Am I getting old at 36 or what?? I used to be able to do this. I thought it would go away after a couple of weeks, but is has been 4 weeks now that I've felt this.
Suggestions anyone??

hey spiderwoman,

couple of suggs,

1) switch back and legs then cardio
2) take a complete relaxing day after legs and then do cardio on tuesday if possible.
3) or cardio, back then leg day.

(Depending on your back workout, if you are doing any such moves like bent over rows, hypers, tbar...then your hammies take a hit, hence extra leg soreness)

try any of the combos and see how that works.
As you know with any hypertrophy, our bodies need recoupe time and hitting the ellip is detrimenting the leg recovery process which in the long run will hinder progress that you are working so hard towards on leg day. Its highly suggested that the day of and after no cardio be performed with leg day.

Recovery is a bigger part than people give in to. It's not your age chica....you know us women get better as we get older!!
yeah baby!
Good luck with your workouts ;)

I gotta agree w/ g -- recovery is the key. Its always been a challenge to find a way to split up the week to give my legs a good workout, get enough time to recover upper body (back / bis & chest / tris) and still get some serious cardio in there. Since your legs are bearing the brunt of both your leg workout and your cardio as well as some crossover between back/hams/glutes, try throwing in a day off for the ol' wheels & see how it works.
