Hello everyone.... Im new on here and this place seems GREAT!!!

What I want to know is who has tried Protein Factory's Post-Workout (recovery) formula w/Hydro520 Whey?? I just made my first order and got several other mixes which seem to taste ok......BUT the Hydro 520 postworkout mix tastes TERRIBLE!!!!
:bawling: I can barely drink it... now I know its my fault for not ordering ANY sweetner... Next order will Defiantly have Splenda or something to help out......But

My question is has anyone made much better gains on this compared to regular WPI mixes for post workout?

I used to take designer & seemed to work fine.....Just had 2 post-workout of 520 and wanted to know if this stuff is really worth the taste:confused:

Please help.......

Bro i believe you're wasting your money. I use WPC and it does the job just fine. It starts to work in 20 minutes, and ends in 2 hours. that is sufficient time. And after 1 or 2 hours i'll take another shake of just whey again so that i'll be covered for the 4 hours (the window of opportunity). I imagine that the 520 will just be used faster than 20min. and last much less than 2 hours. If you really have a hard on for the 520 mix it w/ something else so that you're covered for a longer period of time.
Besides that WPC is 80% protein, why would you pay double the price for just 10% more protein? doesn't make any sense. My advice is stick to the basic, unless you got money to be pissing out.

I use Protein Factory's post-workout formula, and have been happy with it. You're right, the taste is pretty awful by itself, but I mix in about 1 part dextrose to 3 parts PWF, and that makes it much more tolerable.

I used to do just grape-juice and whey concentrate, but had a hard time digesting that. ...it would leave me very gassy and bloated. (Not saying that everyone reacts this way, but I sure do.) ...anyway, give the Dextrose a try before writing it off.

that is something i forgot to mention in my statement above. I do use dextrose w/ whey post workout. I try and get lactose free whey. Some wheys feel different than others i agree. My first shake is 50g dextrose w/ 50g whey. 1 or 2 hours later i'll take 30g whey shake w/ some o.j. just for taste reasons. this will cover you for the 4 hour window of opportunity period. Then i consume a solid meal after the second shake.

Fogg one thing I have found is that if i put the shake in the blender i get much more bubbles in the shake and eventually much more gas. What does help me a great deal is Ginger root, it's really great, and it aids in protein digestion. I use 1g of it w/ my shake. Also i've tried just getting a big cup and stirring it in, some wheys do not mix well. Right now i'm using Sportsone whey and it blends right in no problems and much less gas than using a blender b/c there's no bubbles or foam.

riskybizz, thanks for the tip(s). I'll have to try going w/o the blender and see how that works. Plus, the whey I was using was EAS Simply Whey (no flames, please!), so I'm sure the quality was an issue too.
...is the ginger root you use in capsule form? Mind if I ask where you get it? Thanks!

I use 1G of Ginger root, i get it from a local health food store down the street called vitaminshop. It only costs about $5 it's a good deal considering it makes me feel much much better. I hate that bloaty and gassy feeling.

One more thing to add to whey is that is has lactoferrin, which aids in growth.

I use the recovery formula from protein factory. I sweeten it w/ splenda and have gotten the orange flavor and vanilla so far. I have not minded the taste of either. As far as price goes this blend is very cheap I pay $7.66/lb which contains dextrose/maltodextrin/whey hydro 520/bcaas/glutamine. That isnt much more then a tub of optimum would be. Get it sweetened with splenda and it will be fine.
