Do you powerlifters find pretty boy bodybuilders annoying?

while powerlifters train for strength, bodybuilders train for the perfect body and some look down on powerlifters and other bodybuilders who dont want to be totally riped just big, and give them shit like calling them fat etc.

i dont mind the pretty boy bodybuilders as long as they stay outta my way (i used to be one), and in most cases, they'll give me a spot if i need it... me and my friends this year were bb, for 6 months, then pl for 2-3, and now im sticking with pl, and they ar e going back to bb

It's not that i find them annoying but when they start bugging me then i get mad. Like when they start asking what is the point of lifting for so much weight if you don't look good, then I start ranking on them. other than that if they wanna do there thing to look good in a bathing suit then i'll do mine to break them in half at the beach:D

Well, today starts my training back at my house. I by no means look like a big powerlifter, but I train as one. While we were training at the gym, we would see some pretty pathetic stuff from the pretty boys. My favorite was the 1/8 squats on the smith machine with help from a spotter, lol. Also, one guy we nicknamed "Baywatch", who constantly just did abs. He would walk around flexing his stomach and talking to girls on the treadmill. What a half a fag he was. Glad to be back to my cold basement. :D

man I wish I had my own little gym in my garage or something one day I will and it'll be something like IrishPowers gym if any of you saw those pics that gym is sweeeeettt. I know it'll cost me about $10,000 just with the equipment but lil by lil i'll have it. Already have $2,500 saved up for it. Then it'll be nothing but power lifting. For now I have to stick with lifting at school since I don't want a gym membership to waste $$ on something I don't need i at least have guys that train for power there and there's one kid 17 benches 375 "big bounce though" and pauses 315 not bad at all RAW. I'd train with him but I don't like his workout and he thinks that DE(speed) bench doesn't do anything for strength so I'll prove him wrong when I pause more than him:D . Oh ye we have some guys in there too that do nothing but abs, but the funny thing is it doesn't show they're not fat it's just training them everyday and eating mcdonalds doesn't help if they want them too show. but while they do there abs and work on biceps 3 times a week i'll worry about pushing higher weights.

Somewhat

If they stay out of my way and don't fu** with me while training. I don't like to talk much while training. The main thing that pisses me off is that my gym only has one power rack. The other day some little bb were doing squats in the power rack with 405, they didn't even approach parallel, not by a long shot. But they still did 5 sets each and then turned around and did some front squats, by the time they were done I was downright pissed. I guess it doesn't bother me that much, when I can do db extensions with what they press.

the only difference between a powerlifter and a bodybuilder is that a bodybuilder does powerlifting techniques to get big, but also diets and keeps a strict regime to get cut and look good...
powerlifters use powerlifting techniques but they dont give a shit about their body so they become fat and ugly and lazy...they're too lazy to cut up because either they cant stick to it, or they're just plain old weak!

I have some friends who are amature natural bodybuilders at my gym, and I like them real well. But that is because they are good guys, who are respectful of me and I return the favor. I am constantly getting asked questions about how to get bigger and stronger, because I, like bigokie, can do tricep extensions with what they bench. I happily give them the advice, and then, because it is not one of the Weider principles, they happily ignore my advice and go right back to what they were doing.

I don't like people who curl in the squat rack. I don't like people who are in the rack when I want to be in there, and unless they are doing box squats, I don't care what they are doing, I just want them to go away. But this has nothing to do with whether they are bodybuilders or not. They are just in my way.

I like the pretty boys, I think, because they have pretty girlfriends, and it gives me some eye candy to look at between sets.

Droors, if you think the guys on this board are weak, think again.

come on guys, the guys you guys are describing arent "bodybuilders", would a bodybuilder be doing a squat with only an 1/8 range of montion, no, they know just as much as you guys and we have great dedication to what we are doing just as much, do u think dieting is easy. no i am not at all a bodybuilder, i would say b/c i am only a high school kid and i dont plan on ever competing but i do enjoy lifting, have appreciation for myself in following bulking and cutting diets, and i do lift for strength though to. but bodybuilders, why the "pretty boy", just b/c they are lifting to have a chiseled body, are you saying you wouldnt want one, they lift for strength too, are you saying a pro bodybuilder who is repping on bench press with 405 on is not strong, yes they are. i have great respect for you guys especially on your dedication, and setting goals and making a long term plan to achieve it, but i think the term "pretty boy bodybuilder" refers to a tiny tiny small minority that is part of bodybuilders.
