Hello,
I'm working out w/a trainer 3x's a week and doing cardio first thing in the a.m. on an emplty stimach 4-5 x's a week. I'm 5'5 female, 134 lbs. and aprox. 24% BF. My goal is to get to the teens, 14-16 BF for a Natural Figure Comp. May 20,2004.

My trainer put me on this blood type diet, I'm A positive
(post-cardio)
Breakfast-1/2 grapefruit, 2 egg whites, green tea or 1 c. oatmeal
Lunch- 1 cup beans, 1 cup broc., H20 or yogurt w/fruit
Snack- 4 slices of cucumber, pineapple, green tea or 1 celery stick w/natty PB and cran. juice
Dinner- Salad of mixed greens and any veggies, Newmans s. dressing ot 1 cup br. rice & veggies.
1-2 gal.s of h20 daily.

This seems way to low in cals. and protein......Any suggestions?

Thanx, Mrs. JNUTS

your weight(134) x 12 = 1608 cals a day. I would keep your daily cals around this and base your daily intake around lean proteins(chicken, fish, eggs) and keep your carbs at a minumum, but when u eat carbs eat low gi carbs(broccoli, g. beans) and get your fat from good fat sources(flax, salmon oil, udo's) and with sufficient exercise your bound to shed the weight

actually that is for maintaining the weight
deduct 10% from the caloric intake for reduction
so your caloric intake should be around 1450 a day
everything else my buddy suggested is good
i'd drop the cran juice most are loaded with sugars(hi fructose corn syrup) and not that much real juice
switch the brown rice to short grain brown rice or wild rice.....lower GI (less likely to spike insulin)
add nuts ...suggest as a mid morning snack
for breakkie oatmeal should not be an option
have it, the eggs, grapefruit and green tea
h20 should never be an option
make sure you drink at least 8 large glasses a day
esp when you might be hungry
lastly be careful of you selection of cooked veggies
onions and red peppers contains lots of sugars use sparingly
as des said stick to lo GI veggies

cheers
