Cardio Training

Background: Hate cardio. Was doing 20-30 minutes 4 days a week on a bike. Stopped 6 weeks ago due to laziness and life. Hate eliptical machine's with a passion. Bought both a bike and an eliptical. I want to build my cardio up in both time and activity. The eliptical is obviously FAR better then the recumbant bike, but I'm fat (not obese, but I've got some size to me.) and out of shape which makes the damn thing REALLY difficult.

Question: At what interval should I increase my cardio? 2 minutes per day? 2 minutes per week? 5 minutes??

I hate cardio to with a fucking passion but I been doing an hour and 45 minutes a day. You got to make it fun. I make it fun with good music choice, or postioning my self in front a TV with something good on or play games with my self like ok try to hit this many steps by x amoiunt of time. I only do the precor eliptical as it is the easyiest on my f'd up knee. For me personally I know I got to get it done so I just soldier thru it. I could probably do 30 minutes in my sleep now. LOL

I think there is not a single women out there that TRULY enjoys cardio. For me , I started including aerobic classes at the gym , I used to avoid : boxing , kickboxing , hip hop dance. These classes are any where from 30-60 minutes in length , but because they are upbeat and interactive , it makes the time go by much quicker.

As far as increasing your time and intensity , your body will let you know. I am a "big" girl too , and starting out all I could do was 20 minutes , now I can go for 45 and sometimes 60. I would just take one day at a time , and on those days you feel you can add a few more minutes , go for it. It all adds up in the long run. JUST KEEP MOVING :)
