Carb loading on Ketogeic Diet?

Hi Bro's,

Im on a TKD diet - Ill be carbing up this weekend.

what time length do any of you guys on the same diet cab up for (24-48 hrs).
Also what foods are you eating? Foods with low GI's or pretty much anything? Thanks in advance

I did a CKD back in the day and would generally run it 48 hrs after 5 days of depletion.

I started off with high GI foods for the first 12-24 hours - things like white bread and sugary cereals, etc., obviously keeping fat as low as possible. It was a nice reward after the hell of depletion. Avoided fructose for the most part. During the 2nd day I began switching to lower GI foods - mostly oats and sweet potatoes. Always had a serving of protein each time I ate (roughly ~30g per meal). Oh and I'd say I ate every 2 hours (except while sleeping!) for the duration of the 48hrs.

I had always heard people talking about "spillover" (which would signal you to cut back on the carbs) but I could never personally gauge when that was happening - but 2 days of loading seemed about right and I didn't notice any unusual fat gains over a 6 or 7 month period.

I've done this same thing with good results.

Just a side note though, when i started back to usual keto on Monday i found eating mostly saturated fat got me back to ketosis a lot quicker than eating good fats like omega 3's.
