After visiting my doctor i have a problem with my lower back. It git me friday when i was deadlifting.

So please advice for a back training program that is good without deadlifts or bent over rows for ate least the next 2-3 months.

any advise?

I had this and am still suffering. Give it a few months then hit hypers and start adding weight on there. Bent over rows, widegrip pull ups and cable pulldowns. Ive been advised to stay off deadlifts for about a year, then slowly work my way up again using strict form, more 'toning' than 'bulking', ie 12-15 reps weight. Theyll always be some pain unless you wanna fork out for surgey as the scar tissue will never completely go away on its own, but stretches and core exercises should loosen you up and take care of most of it. The worst Ive found is when my hamstrings are tight they feel like they are pulling on my lower back and I go stiff, so stretch them every which way you can in the morning and give them a light stretch and mayve a few warmup Ham curls before doing anying that will put a train on your lower back like squats, leg press, hypers, and eventually deadlifts.

I was literally just about to post this same thread. I really fucked up my lower back and don't want to do deads or rows for a couple weeks. I'm currently doing 5x5. How would you guys recommend modifying madcow's 5x5 without deads or bent over rows?
