And so a whole life is messed up ...

Kids, ha! Granted they are being stupid, but rather them be in the gym being stupid than out on the streets with a gang of losers.

Anyway didn't Tom Platz tear a pec? Seems I remember seeing him in a muscle mag years ago in a hospital bed healing up.

I tore my left bicept tendon just running one day. It was cold out, and keeping my arms in a 45 degree angle long enough then inadvertently dropped my arms quickly enough was all it took. I can still do curls and chins. Just looks slightly deformed. Happened about three years ago.

sometimes you tear stuff doing flukey things but 99% of the time injuries happen when your hard tissues grow too fast vs. your soft tissues. even in the case of bodybuilders who are pro's they will get off the wagon then jump back on huge amounts of gear and try and comp for a contest in a short amount of time and pop goes the weasel. when we deal with kids who are still RAW and new their bodies are not used to the rigors of the weight room, they lack the conditioning necessary to survive so when they take gear and/or push themselves too much guess what happens? injuries. I've been lifting for 18 some years now and not once did I get injured weightlifting. I have been coaching HS weightlifting for years as well and not once did a kid get injured in my weight room because I teach the correct way to lift. progression lifting at that age is crucial. also I DO NOT allow my kids to use belts, straps, gloves or any of that other shit that will create imbalances in the body.. this way 5 or 10 years from now they will not have strength imbalances which will lead to injuries. you see those guys in the gym who walk around with their chests out like a bird? its cause they only do pushing exercises.. they can bench 400 pounds but can only pull 100 pounds. and they don't work their legs at all. that's going to eventually come back to bite you in the ass

Hi John,

Honestly, if you look at the transformations being made and you try to copy that contestant's diet and training routine, you would make progress, but not NEARLY the progress they made in the same amount of weeks. Plus ... I have been in this game for quite some time now and have only seen 2 guys in my whole time assisting guys with training and diet make a WOW turnaround in 16 weeks natty and the real WOW part only came on from week 13-16.

Interesting reply....I always thought they looked too good to be true

Darwinism at its finest!

Call me an ass but I love this shit. The kids today have it easy, A world of knowledge at their fingertips on the web and not the common sense to use it. If I grew up with the tec kids have today my life would be totally different.

I'm (only? haha) thirty and I agree with this. I remember doing school reports before the internet. The net was in full swing by the time I was in high school and I can't put into words how much easier self learning has gotten. The worlds largest and most diverse library at your disposal with an intelligent search function.

Even still, kids make mistakes. I was lucky to survive my 20's to be honest.
