Will being ON cycle keep muscle while cutting?

Soo, i need to be @ 10% or below by Feb. 10, Naturally (not including AAS ;) ). Anyways, I'm 165 @ 16.1 BF. Right now my calorie intake is @ 1900 with a ratio of 30/50/20 for macronutrients. You can see it here if you want.

Heres the Question. Can I cut it down to 1600 cals maintaining the same ratios and spare muscle? I seem to think its possible considering my protein should be high enough.

I'm on Test Cyp 400mg/Week and 40mg Dbol/ED By the way :)

Any info would be great. Thanks,

Hawaii

I haven't used AAS yet, but I'd sure hope you retain all your muscle while on and dieting. Those are powerful drugs. In fact I'd think you could build some muscle while losing a significant amount of bodyfat.

You gotta think man, with that much test in your body you will be a muscle sparing, muscle building machine. Your body will utilize every thing you eat better.

I'd personally go for 250 gram protein per day which is 1000 calories.

100 grams carbs which is 400 calories

50 grams fat which is 450 calories

For a Grand total of 1,850 calories.

Protein is the most important nutrient in the diet whether it's bulking or cutting.

I'd also take some kind of appetite suppressant so you aren't hungering for food. Also an energy enhancer so you don't feel low from the minimal carb intake.

Just my opinion. Good luck.

Yes. If you play your cards right you can gain muscle easily. I've witnessed it first hand.

As of right now, I've lost 4 inches off my waist, my bench press has gone up 60 pounds, and my squat has gone up 80 pounds. All this since I started cutting. I'm using Test Prop 100mg/day. Do that with an awesome diet, and you'll get results like mine.

Sorry to hijack this thread but let me get this straight, you can only bench 60lbs(barbell)??? and only squat 80lbs(barbell squat)??? if so, not to discourage you, but those are really, really low numbers. You have no business being on aas. You dont have a base and what you do gain, you will quickly loose after you get off. You obviously just starting working out and by the sound of it, not very old either. You will cause more damage than anything. Your just not experienced enough. I would wait at least till your 23 or 24 and have been working out for 5 yrs before experimenting. Thats just my opinion though. To each there own.

You are currently at 16% and need to be at 10% by Feb 10th? Is Feb 10th a BB show date? If you are a male - to be competitive..you should compete at around 6-7% as a novice BB. I of course am unable to see what you look like, but most men I have helped with competition nutrition I keep to no more than 8-10% in the OFF season. Dropping calories isn't the answer. The more lean muscle tissue you gain, the more BF you will metabolize. How much lean mass have you gained - have you tracked this? If you watch the BF loss and the lean mass gain, you will then be able to adjust your diet accordingly. As you learn more about how your body reacts to carbs, fats, etc. - you will have no trouble changing up your diet as you progress toward competition.

Just to give you a guideline - as a female at 150 preparing for a show, I was 10% BF and taking in 3500 calories to maintain the 10%. I dropped to 2500 then to 1800 to get down to 7% for my show. If you drop to 1600 cals at 165lbs, you can be sure you won't gain any muscle and you'll probably lose quite a bit too.

Take the attached macro nutrient breakdown / diet and try to cut down the intake to 1800-1900 for your needs. It might help as a guideline. Take care and good luck.
