To Carb-up Or Not Carb-up

In week 6 of my cutting diet. Carbs are relatively low (120-140 day) all before 12 noon, other than a post workout shake with dextrose early evening. I'm feeling real flat and a little sore from workouts. Was wondering if I should load on some carbs tonight to get my muscles a little fuller? I haven't loaded at all this cutting cycle yet, but was wondering if some extra carbs tonight would replenish a little glycogen. What do you guys think I should do? Stick it out, or load a little tonight? If so what carbs would you guys recommend from which types of foods? Karma for help :)

BUMP?

I would have a second carb meal 1.5 hours or so after every workout, oatmeal (60 grams of carbs) with 600 ala or 200 r-ala would be perfect. I would also have 1 cheat day a week like Sundays where you eat a couple high carbs meals, take ala or r-ala with them as well. This will help keep you feeling stronger and your muscles replenished. You may not drop the weight quite as quickly but you will most likely retain more muscle and feel better during your cutting phase. Good luck........

I personally think that you should consume a meal with at least 40 carbs(complex) 1 1/2- 2 hours post workout. I feel that if I keep my carbs to low even when dieting I feel flat and lethargic all day long. Use R-Ala with every meal that contains carbs as well. See if that helps, through trial and error you'll find out what works best for you

a good carbup would do wonders for your muscles... you'd be able to hit it harder in the gym. any excess ater will probably get dropped in 2-3 days after you go back to your regular diet

Eat some more carbs. It also depends on how much you weigh, b/c if you weigh about 230 then it shouldn't hurt to increase your carb intake a little, but then if you only weighed 180 and you increased the same amount than it would have a greater effect.

I would suggest you have a carb-up (refeed) every week of your diet in order to facilitate proper thyroid function and great an anabolic effect w/ carb loading.

Set aside one day a week where you can eat about 65%carbs/25%protein/10% fat. That should fix most of the problems you might have had w/ being too flat.

OK but what kind of carbs? Or does it matter. The carbs I eat are Sweet potatos, rice cakes, brown rice, ok lets be real Big Macs, A double double animal style from IN and OUT. :p

No just kiding I am a wrestler and have to lose weight so I really cut my carbs to almost nothing for about 5 day's straight and then after weigh-ins I eat like sh!t. I need a carb up plan for the night before so I can feel good make the weight and have some carbs but I just don't know what I should eat???
