Things that Piss Me off at The Gym

I have a few :)

1) Having to fight my way through the clouds of hairspray and perfume in the cardio room to get to the weights room.

2) People who insist on trying to make eye-contact with me as I'm setting up for a heavy set. By all means look (but I dont know why your bothering) but lose the eye contact....its distracting.

3) Leaving a sweaty bench for somebody else to clean......completely unnecessary.

4) Men who are bigger than me having to play at being Billy Badass and trying to outlift me.....I really couldnt care less what anybody else is lifting and they always use bad form.

5) People who make fun of the newbie skinny/fat person. It prob took them ages to pluck up the courage to get in the gym....they should be encouraged not ridiculed.

6) People who have to shout and scream before every rep just to make sure everybody is watching.

7) People who avoid the tough exercises (squats, deadlifts) and then complain that they dont grow or get stronger.

8) People who think that I must be unfit because they dont see me doing cardio. I happen to have a resting pulse rate of 32-40 bpm (depending upon how heavy I'm lifting at that time) and my blood pressure is good....I think my heart is doing ok.

People who utilize one device/machine, designed primarily for something specific, when they could just as easily use something else.

Case in point: people using one side of a cable cross machine for abs or triceps when there are plenty of stations available for those exercises, thusly forcing me, who wishes to do cable flyes (or something else involving both limbs), into either waiting until they finish their 12th set or requesting to work in and slow down my HIIT process.

And this is at Gold's Gym Monterey Penninsula! Grrrrr....

These things piss me off:

1) using 2 or more pieces of equipment, say a bench and a (or my gym's case -THE) squat rack (and taking their sweet time about it) when the gym's packed to the gills

2) asking to work-in on something when there's an IDENTICAL piece of equipment standing VACANT less than 10 feet away

3) hoarding a bunch of dumbells for really long time, and then just leaving them all over the floor

4) not cleaning up after oneself, whether it's leaving something all sweaty (or a hair GREASE spot! ) or not re-racking the weights

5) people who think a vacant bench is their personal water bottle stand or clothes rack

6) people on the stair climbers who lock out their arms. We have this one lady who does it so bad, she even wears lifting gloves (and she rarely ever lifts!)

Oh yeah one more thing...............when girls cum up to me and insist that I do cardio all day long and eat nothing but salads............ to look that lean lol........than I tell them I eat like a pig and I love lifting heavy weights........and I only do cardio 3 or 4 times a week, tops.

the skinnier than me shit who stares me down and then flexes at me. i could beat him up with my left nut. and also the peckers who flex in the mirror to see how ripped they are. i would be ripped too if i was 6 ft and weighed 100 pounds. at least it pisses me off and then i lift the hell out of some weight.

Things that piss me off.

People who load up the bar with a ton of weight and do quarter reps. QUARTER FUCKIN REPS, and problably couldn't do a full rep if they took half that weight off.

bad day

This was a bad day for me to find this thread as I have just completed the worst week of work at the gym both working out and training people ever.

1. The idiot 17 year old kid who insisted upon going pound for pound with me while working out on military dumbbells who dislocated his shoulder trying to get the 110s up whose football coach came in the next day to talk to me.

2. The idiot football coach of the 17 year old kid who threatened to kick my ass and pushed me in the gym knowing I wouldnt do anything back to him because I was at work.

3. The guys that insistantly do not rack their weights and seemed to be working out at the station I was heading to for every exercise during every workout so far this week. Two kids even left about 600 pounds for me to unrack on the leg press how kind of them

4. The kids that hogged the squat rack today for over 1 hour talking and doing a set every 10 minutes that said they would be done in a few minutes when I asked to work in.

5. The guy that had the nerve to interrupted me while I was training a guy on the squats to tell the client that he would train him for less than what I charge. He is no longer allowed in the gym.

6. The kids who are on gear(mind you I am not but have no problem with people using it their own decision) who only bench and do arms. We have two of them who will openly talk about their cycle and I have never once seen them hit the legs. Big upper body no legs shoulders back to speak of. Just gives people the wrong idea about my friends that train hard as hell that use gear.

There are many more but I feel a little better already thankfully finding this post and now it is off to cook some steak. Later

One thing that really fucks me off is when I'm trying to get out a certain number of reps on the dumbells to beat what I did last time (eg dumbell incline or shoulder press) and just as I'm starting to struggle a little the weights suddenly go up quite easily because some bloody instructor with nothing else to do has come in and with all his strength to give me a helping hand. It might take me 6 or seven seconds but I can get it up by myself.
Another time I was benching about 110 pound dumbells and after giving it everything I had to squeeze out one last rep I put the weights down. At that point some instructor came flying out of his office with his arms waving before giving me a verbal lashing about dropping the weights onto the floor. He was very lucky I didn't knock him out.

What really pisses me off are people that are talking to you in the middle of my set........
Girls that are using light wimpy weights in fear that they are going to get HUGE and Muscular........yeah keep on waiting.
People that use their cell phones in the middle of their work outs.
Girls that use so much make up and hairspray just to look good for the guys, they dont even sweat.
Or the same people that only use cardio year after year and they still look the same.
Guys that are there for socializing not working out...
Nuff said:)

ditto...

plus the guy that was doing squats today with such bad form that i though he was doing some new form of good mornings...

and guy that loads 4 plates on an olympic bar, swings it up a few times with his entire upper body and calls it quits for arm day....

oh and the people who STARE at you while you're doing your workout... arrrghh... get a video or something, i'm not here for your viewing pleasure buddy!!#@!$+@!
