I'm 6' 197lbs. and aprrox. 10%bf. I have knee surgery coming up and i dont wanna lose muscle or gain fat by sitting around the house eating. I know i'll probably be non functional for a couple of weeks. I also know i shouldn't eat as many calories.

I was thinking about cutting my meals down from 8 to 6 (3 meals are protein shakes).

What do yall recommend me doing inorder to stay at the same weight and have the same look?

Are you able to get to the gym and do some upper body work after the surgery? Knee surgeries are tough and you'll probably lose some muscle no matter what you do. The best thing I would suggest is to take in extra vitamin C (10 grams a day) to support the connective tissues along with some extra glutamine with your shakes. I wouldn't restrict the calories that much even if you're not going to be moving for a while. If you start noticing bodyfat gains just cut back. Remember muscle memory though. Whatever you lose post surgery will come back really fast once your properly healed and resume your normal training routine.

I wont be able to get in the gym and do upper body till i have my post op appointment. I'm guessing i'll probally be in the gym in about a week. I've already been out a week so, 2 weeks isn't as bad as i orginally thought. As for my lower body, i probally wont be able to train hard for at least 6 weeks, again i'm guessing. ill probally have to take it pretty slow.

Definitely take it slow when you come back. Don't worry about any lose of size either. It comes back fast. One of my cousins tore his bicep and had to have surgery this winter. He was out for a few months doing nothing. As of today he's as big as ever again. Best of luck and a speedy recovery.

i just went threw knee surgery like 3 weeks ago and i started going to the gym a week ago and i lost alot i lost like 6-10 pounds and i lost some of my bench too...i dont think therei s anything you can do just eat right...but when i went back to the gym for a week my bench is fine now same spot..itll come back fast though
