Rye bread?

What do u guys think of rye and pumpernickel bread?

Usually for lunch i have a sweet potato with some tuna or something

but i was away at the weekend and had this awesome salmon sandwich on dark rye and it tasted great hehe
I was wondering if i could carry on eating them ;)

Yeah, I posted this same question a while back... Rye bread has a low GI (lower than whole wheat too, apparently).

I go for the seedless rye myself.

hate to break it to you, but some ryes have a pretty high gi, especially ones that you can buy at specialty shops. make sure they aren't using a ton of barley or that they aren't mixing in bunch of ap white flour.

it's best to stick with pumperknickel made from rye kernels and caraway seeds.

i used to work at a bakery back home and we made this stuff, it's absolutely delicious. also, if you put some killer horseradish sauce, roast beef and some hella sharp cheddar on dark pumperknickel, you will have one of the tastiest (and damn healthy) sandwiches you've ever had. might want to make it open-faced with only one slice of bread if you're really watching your carbs, though ;).
